Switzerland Denies Banking Deal with U.S.
ZURICH – On Sunday the Switzerland government denied a newspaper report that they had reached a deal in principle with the U.S. over undeclared funds hidden by wealthy Americans in their offshore bank accounts.
The majority of the thirteen banks in the score of United States justice officials have stated that they are already in settlement negotiations with the government and all other commentary is simply false.
The banks already under investigation by the U.S would have to encourage the remainder of their U.S. clients to disclose their funds to United States tax officials.
If they fail at doing so their banking data would be then sent to U.S. officials who would be able to submit requests to get the names and other confidential information of the alleged tax evaders.
